Red Earth Gokarna is located at Honey Beach near a small village called Honnebail in Ankola Taluk of Uttara Kannada District.

Ankola is the closest big town at 9.5 km. There are direct buses from Ankola to Bangalore, Mysuru, Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad. It is also the closest railway station at 11.5 km. Kumta is the bigger railway station at 43 km with halt for most of the express trains.

Gokarna town is 11.5 km via Manjaguni bridge. Currently only two wheelers are allowed on this bridge. Autorickshaws are available at both ends of the bridge. Distance for four wheelers to go via highway is 38 km.

Two wheelers can be hired from Gokarna town as well as can be delivered on the spot. We can help you with the bike rentals.

Transport from bus stations, railway stations as well as airports can be facilitated with an additional charge. Autorickshaws as well as cabs are easily available at all the places.

Closest airport is Dabolim in Goa at 128 kms. MOPA airport in Goa is 167 kms.

Hubli airport in Karnataka is 149 kms. The drive from Hubli is through picturesque forests of the Western Ghats via Yellapur town famous for Siddi Tribes of African origin.

Mangalore is 245 kms south.

Karwar is the district headquarters and naval base located at 41 kms north.

Red Earth Gokarna is located on a slope of a forested hillock, facing the Arabian sea, with an almost private beach. Our buildings are made of laterite rocks which are abundantly found in these coastal belts. The roof is thatched with grass to keep the insides cool.

We accommodate 46 pax in 18 cottages under 4 different categories.

There are 8 premium cottages, Each of these air-conditioned cottages is in cluster of 2, with a queen size bed and a large single bed, accommodating maximum 3 adults. These spacious cottages have inner area of 340 square feet.

There are 3 cottages, All of these air-conditioned cottages are in 1 cluster, with a king size bed, accommodating maximum 2 adults in each. These cottages have inner area of 260 square feet.

There are 6 lodge rooms, All of these air-conditioned rooms are in double storied building, with a king size bed, accommodating maximum 2 adults in each. These rooms have inner area of 220 square feet.

There is 1 family cottage with inner area of 455 square feet. This air-conditioned cottage has two bedrooms with a large (63 sq ft) common washroom and spacious front yard with an exclusive hammock. There are two queen size beds, accommodating maximum 4 adults. These rooms have inner area of 220 square feet.

All cottages have mini fridge, LCD television & geysers. Kitchen serves Global and Local cuisine.

We have beautiful granite boulders at the sea front, perfect for spending quality time at the sunset or to sit and meditate. And few steps down on one side is the almost private beach with clean soft sand & safe water.

Beautiful hillocks running along the Arabian sea are at the backdrop of the property. Our in-house naturalists take guests on nature walks through forested trails in the morning and evening hours. One of the trails across the hill leads you to a long and pretty beach called Belambar; where one can witness the lifestyle of the fishing community. Jetty at Belambar offers opportunity to witness landing of fresh catch.

The mighty Gangavali river separates us from Gokarna main town and thus also keeps the crowd away.
There is truly no other property that can boast of a similar unique location. There is no fishing village or commercial activity on this beach.

However, we have been clear in not violating any rules set down by the Government. The SEZ rules for the coastal belt require we keep a particular distance from the Ocean. We have strictly maintained the same.

We have also planted trees to protect us from the huge winds that can destroy our buildings. Therefore, we can say we are definitely on the seafront but with partial view of the sea from some areas because of the tree cover.
